Item Title:Economic Development - Stan Roberts ROW Transfer to City of El Paso (2023-1030)

Subject:Approve and authorize the County Judge to sign the quit claim deed to convey 18.1794± acres, being all of Tract 8, Block 80, Township 1, Section 3 Texas and Pacific Railways Surveys, being more specifically described as Stan Roberts, Jr. right-of-way, to the City of El Paso for public use, upon final legal review and approval from the County Attorney's Office. (Contract No. 2023-1030)
Background:

The portion of right-of-way is located in Northeast El Paso off of US-54 and is located 1.5 miles southwest of the New Mexico/Texas State line. The property was originally dedicated for public use as a roadway when the area was surveyed as an unincorporated section of land. The City of El Paso ultimately annexed the property in a series of annexations, however, the land remained in the County's name and was not transferred over to the City--this action provides for the transfer of property to the City and will be utilized for public use.

 

The Planning & Development concurs with the transfer of property as the right-of-way is solely located within the City of El Paso municipal boundaries.
