GRANT MODIFICATION - Approve and authorize the County Judge to accept the budget adjustment for the Department of Homeland Security FY22 Operation Stonegarden Grant Award awarded to Constable Precinct 4. The original grant award of $32,998 will be reduced to $17,997 after the budget adjustment for use by an eligible agency.  (Contract No. 2023-1003)

Funds are being used for Overtime. Constable Pct. 4 was added to Stonegarden after the grants had been submitted. The request to add Pct. 4 had to be approved by Border Patrol and FEMA. Once that was approved, OOG prepared the grant application and opened it up to the County to complete. This was a lengthy process that will not allow Pct. 4 ample time to spend the funding in full. The funding agency does not allow extensions on continuation grants. The grant performance period began on March 1, 2023. The award was executed in November 2023, leaving only 4 months until the end of the grant. The time restrictions will not allow us enough time to spend down the grant funds. The budget adjustment was created to move funds to an agency that could use the funds (Socorro PD).
