ITD strives to consolidate our IT solutions to leverage institutional knowledge, focused training, and more efficient support.
Because the Sheriff’s Office has an obligation to investigate and ensure that incidents and other activities are performed within the law and devoid of misconduct attributed to officers on the force, it is imperative that there be software mechanisms to maintain professional and legal standards. Internal affairs software provides the case management and early identification features that aid in the intervention process of activities to internally self-govern such conduct and act accordingly.
The Sheriff’s Office licenses the use of Internal Affairs software by the name of IAPro and BlueTeam from the vendor CI Technologies, Inc. The Sheriff’s Department of Internal Affairs Section uses this software to manage case records. More specifically, the software provides case management, workflow, and file linking to other case records such as MS word, video, pdfs, and other digital images. The software also employs MS Word to automate standard forms and letters by allowing users to setup and add MS Word templates. The BlueTeam component of the software enables the entry of complaints, uses-of-force, vehicle accidents and pursuits by field personnel. This software supports CALEA requirements for early intervention/early warning assessment features.
ITD is requesting that the Court approve and authorize the County Judge to sign an Agreement for the continued use, support, and maintenance of this software. This agreement has been reviewed and approved by the County Attorney’s Office, and the Purchasing Department. ITD recommends approval.
