| Background: | On December 10, 2018 the Commissioners Court approved and adopted the County’s Healthy Food Financing Initiative (HFFI) Policy. The HFFI is a program that aims to improve public access to healthy foods among low income populations and food deserts throughout the County of El Paso.
Earmarked funds for the program in Fiscal Year 2022 were left unallocated. Consequently, funds were left untouched. During FY23, $140,839 in remaining budget was earmarked to be rolled over for the upcoming Fiscal Year 2024. This proactive measure ensures the optimal utilization of resources for the intended program, aligned with fiscal responsibility and program success. |
