To achieve this goal, ITD dedicates resources focused on understanding and maintaining organizational technological solutions. ITD strives to consolidate our IT solutions to leverage institutional knowledge, focused training, and more efficient support.
Because the County of El Paso manages various facilities located strategically throughout the county, it is critical that electronic and automated tools are available to accurately track important information that aids in the maintenance and financial requirements of such locations. Such activities require the utilization of asset management techniques which refers to a systematic approach to the governance and realization of value from the things that a group or entity is responsible for, over their whole life cycles.
The County of El Paso licenses the use of asset management software by the name of Asset Essentials by the vendor Brightly. The Public Works Department uses the software to comprehensively assess buildings located at major County facilities. More specifically, this enables complete condition reporting of essential building equipment for better future planning, the creation of preventative maintenance schedules, and data analysis used to forecast and develop a capital replacement. Also included is a work order module that is tailored to facility maintenance that allows the creation of accurate reporting for specific equipment, building, trade, etc.
ITD is requesting that the Court approve and authorize the County Judge to sign this agreement for the continued use, support, and maintenance of this software. This agreement has been reviewed and approved by the County Attorney’s Office and the Purchasing Department.
