| Background: | In the preparation for the lifting of title 42 on May 11th of 2023, the County of El Paso is taking steps to receive asylum seekers and assist them with travel coordination to their final destination.
Having this local transport charter support, will allow us to receive asylum seekers at the County’s Migrant Support Services Center on a timely basis and alleviate the backlog from CBP facilities.
Through coordination with CBP officials, the transport provider will pick up asyslum seekers from CBP facilities to be released at the County’s Migrant Support Services Center. |
