| Background: | As part of the Local Government Assistance Program establish under the Transportation Code, TXDOT is required to assist counties with surplus materials to repair and maintain county roads. Giving preference to counties with an above average number of overweight trucks receiving weight tolerance permits based on the previous year’s permit totals. TXDOT has provided an allotment of $28,312.00 for the County of El Paso during the 2023 fiscal year.
