Approve and authorize the County Judge to sign the Interlocal Agreement between the County of El Paso and the City of El Paso to authorize residents of the unincorporated areas of the County, to dispose of household waste in the Greater El Paso Landfill (located at 2300 Darrington Road, El Paso, Texas 79928) or the Westside Citizen Collection Station, “WCCS” (located at 121 Atlantic Road, El Paso, Texas, 79912) for a 5 year term. (Contract No. 2022-0589)

The majority of County residents do not have adequate waste disposal services and therefore the County provides yearly County Community Cleanups. The goal of the Community Cleanups is to provide the County residents an opportunity to dispose of their waste with less opportunities for the waste to be dumped in the unincorporated desert areas. 

 Partnering with the City allows County residents to dispose of waste not only during the cleanups but throughout the year. This interlocal is an extension of the existing interlocal for a term of 5 years.

Impact will be determined based on when it is safe to resume Community Cleanups .
