The County of El Paso is currently providing health insurance coverage for Medicare eligible retirees and their spouses through Medicare Group Agreements with Aetna Life Insurance Company. On September 12, 2022, the Commissioners Court approved the Aetna Medicare Advantage Plan Rate Proposal and Renewal from Aetna Life Insurance Company for plan year 2023. The Medicare Advantage Plan Group agreement outlines the benefits, provisions, rights, and responsibilities for participation in the Medicare Advantage Plan by eligible retirees and their dependents.  There are no significant changes to the language in the 2023 Group Agreement.

The County currently has approximately 156 Medicare Eligible retirees/dependents enrolled in the Aetna Medicare Advantage Plan for plan year 2023. The County subsidizes 50% of the Medicare Advantage Plan premiums. The member’s premium for plan year 2023 will remain the same at $112.035 per month, and the County will also pay $112.035 per member per month.
