| Background: | The County of El Paso currently offers several ancillary benefits to its employees including Short and Long Term Disability Insurance for County Employees through Standard Insurance Company which was awarded a Request for Proposal (RFP) 22-022 on September 26, 2022 by Commissioners Court. Based on the RFP, the County and Standard Insurance company developed a Third Amendment to the existing Disability Insurance agreement.
The purpose of this amendment is to extend the term of the contract for a 3-year period with options for two additional 1-year periods. This amendment also reduces members monthly rates as depicted on Exhibit A.
The cost for this benefit is paid for by employees who voluntarily participate in this benefit. There is no direct cost to the County for this benefit.
