The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) provides comprehensive civil rights protections to qualified individuals with disabilities in the areas of employment, public accommodations, State and Local government services, and telecommunications.

The County has taken a proactive approach in updating County buildings, parks, and programs which met or exceed the TAS and ADA to ensure accessibility to all users.

The attached presentation includes information on the ADA upgrades made in FY 21/22 at Ascarate, Fabens, and Gallegos Swimming Pools, Assisted Listening Devices, Ascarate Annex parking lot and elevator, Gallegos Park parking lot, Courthouse skywalk doors and 1^st, 3^rd, and 5^th floor restrooms, Youth Service Center doors, Fabens Warehouse men’s restroom, Downtown Detention Center 12^th floor doors, 1^st and 12^th floor restrooms.
