Item Title:Budget & Fiscal Policy Department - BA36

Subject:Approve amendment No.36 to the County of El Paso’s 2021-2022 operating budget. This budgetary amendment will decrease Grants by $783,869.30, thus decreasing the overall budget of $628,975,604.51 to $628,191,735.21.
Background:

The County budget is being amended in accordance with Texas Local Government Code §111.0709.

 

Budget amendment is necessary:

 

·To cover appropriations within the Elections department to cover year end expenses.

 

·To transfer appropriations from General and Administrative Ops Contingencies to the Fleet Constable contingency to cover expenses until year end.

 

·To transfer appropriations within the SO Deten department to cover the cost to purchase operational supplies for the remainder of the year.  The monies in this account will not be used for renovations.  The renovations have already been encumbered.

 

·To increase the budget for the District Attorney-Domestic Violence outreach initiative 2022 grant as awarded and approved by the granting agency to adjust award for additional match approved on CC 11/8/21 item 22, up to the amount needed.

 

·To decrease the budget for the Emergency Rental Assistance I grant as awarded and approved by the U.S. treasury.

Fiscal Impact:This budgetary amendment will decrease Grants by $783,869.30, thus decreasing the overall budget of $628,975,604.51 to $628,191,735.21
Recommendation:The recommendation is for Commissioners Court to approve amendment No. 36 to the County of El Paso’s 2021-2022 operating budget.
