| Background: | Purpose of the Amendment:
The amendment seeks to extend the amount of time the County has to disburse the second tranche payment to the Hospital District as both parties work to amend the original structure and reporting requirements outlined in the original agreement. The extension provides the County and Hospital District an additional 30 days to bring back a subsequent amendment.
Original Background:
The U.S Department of the Treasury launched the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (CSLFRF), established by the American Rescue Plan Act to support urgent COVID-19 response efforts to continue to decrease the spread of the virus and bring the pandemic under control; replace lost public sector revenue to strengthen support for vital public services and help retain jobs; support immediate economic stabilization for households and businesses; and address systemic public health and economic challenges that have contributed to the unequal impact of the pandemic on certain populations.
The County has agreed to receive funding from the federal government for our ongoing response to the health pandemic. During the FY2022 Budget Hearings, the Court directed staff to implement a transfer of funds from the County's ARPA Budget to the County Hospital District in the amount listed above. This agreement facilitates that direction and ensures the Hospital District complies with all applicable rules and regulations as a subrecipient of the CSLFRF. |
