Item Title:Economic Development - El Paso Chamber of Commerce /CARES Act Grant Recipient/ Second Amendment (2022-0380)

Subject:Approve and authorize the County Judge to sign the Second Amendment to the Subrecipient Agreement with the Greater El Paso Chamber of Commerce to establish a small business support and coaching program from September 1, 2020, through December 30, 2020, in the amount of $49,998.44.  Funds are available in GF-ECONIMPACT-INITIATIVE.  (Contract No. 2022-0380)
Background:

On July 20, 2020, Commissioners Court voted to approve CARES Funding to establish a small business support and coaching program through the El Paso Chamber of Commerce.

 

On October 21, 2021, Commissioners Court voted to approve first amendment to CARES Act funding amends the following: Timeframe, budget, and staffing. The subrecipient will be compensated in two distributions: 50% of allotted funds or $25,000 payable on September 1, 2020 (“First Disbursement”) and 50% or $25,000 payable on October 1, 2020 (“Final Disbursement”). The Final Disbursement is inclusive of a payment of a $10,000 administrative fee.

Recommendation:Approve and authorize the County Judge to sign the Second Amendment to the Subrecipient Agreement with the Greater El Paso Chamber of Commerce to establish a small business support and coaching program from September 1, 2020, through December 30, 2020, in the amount of $49,998.44.  Funds are available in GF-ECONIMPACT-INITIATIVE.  (Contract No. 2022-0380)
Prior Action:

June 20, 2020 the Court voted unanimously to approve this program provided it was a CARES eligible expenditure. The County Attorney's office deemed it eligible.

 

On August 17, 2020, Commissioners Court voted to approve CARES Act Sub-Recipient Grant Agreement with the El Paso Chamber of Commerce in the amount of $50,000 to establish a small business support and coaching program. (Contract No. 2020-0646)
