Item Title:Budget & Fiscal Policy Department - BA20

Subject:Approve amendment No. 20 to the County of El Paso’s 2020-2021 operating budget. This budgetary amendment will increase Capital Projects by $4,602,103.98, decrease Grants by $12,826.04, thus increasing the overall budget of $490,148,796.95 to $494,738,074.89.
Background:

To include statutory requirement, operational impact, or performance goal. The County budget is being amended in accordance with Texas Local Government Code §111.0709.

 

Budget amendment is necessary:

 

·To set up the budget for Capital Project SIB20 proceeds from loans.

 

·To increase the budget for 2007 bond funds to cover the cost for additional funds needed for Ascarate toll booth as approved by Commissioners Court on 2/22/21 item #19.

 

·To transfer appropriations within the Sheriff Office Jail Annex department to cover the cost to replace a workstation within one of the pods.

 

·To transfer appropriations from the General and Administrative operating contingency to the Constable 2 department to cover the cost of new building decals to reflect the new elected official.

 

·To increase the budget for the 384th Adult Drug Court program 2021 grant as awarded and approved by the granting agency to adjust award for program income received.

 

  ·To decrease the budget for the 2021 Nutrition Meals grant to reflect the grant agreement amount as awarded and approved by the Texas Department of Agriculture.

Fiscal Impact:This budgetary amendment will increase Capital Projects by $4,602,103.98, decrease Grants by $12,826.04, thus increasing the overall budget of $490,148,796.95 to $494,738,074.89.
Recommendation:The recommendation is for Commissioners Court to approve amendment No. 20 to the County of El Paso’s 2020-2021 operating budget.
