| Background: | The majority of County residents do not have adequate waste disposal services and therefore the County provides yearly County Community Cleanups. The goal of the Community Cleanups is to provide the County residents an opportunity to dispose of their waste with less opportunities for the waste to be dumped in the unincorporated desert areas.
Last year, 17 County Community Cleanups were cancelled because of COVID 19. With people staying home it has been noted that people are producing more waste. The opportunity to partner with the City would allow the County residents to dispose of their waste until things improve and Public Works can move forward with the 24 FY 2021 planned cleanups. We would not be requesting additional funding. Funds are available from the cancelled cleanups, and this year’s budget.
