(Contract No. 2021-0085) |
| Background: | Through the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA), Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds were deobligated from other state programs and diverted to all border Counties who participate and receive Texas Colonia Self Help Center (SHC) funds to respond to the economic crisis caused by COVID-19 pandemic. The funding was awarded as a one-time grant award by the TDA-CDBG Emergency Services-Help for Colonias Program (E-SHC) funds. The Court had approved the purchase of grocery gift cards from Vista Market to address the food needs of colonia/rural residents in the County. The maximum amount of assistance per residence is $2,000. Up to 135 households may benefit from the assistance.
This Contract Amendment 2 extends the contract period from January 15, 2021 to April 15, 2021, providing us more time to continue to provide COVID-19 emergency assistance in rural county areas. |
