The County of El Paso Public Works Department is charged with the review and handling of real property donations to the County. All prospective donors must submit pertinent details related to the property through the Real Estate Acquisition Data sheet. The request is then reviewed by the Public Works Department Directors for its potential use by all departments: Infrastructure Services, Facilities Management, Planning & Development, and Parks & Recreation. The property must be of extraordinary potential use as defined within the Real Property Donation Policy.

The property with an approval recommendation met at least one of the relevant factors for favorable consideration, and it is the determination of the Executive Director of Public Works that this property be accepted for donation. Under the policy, if a determination to accept donations is made, notification to the Commissioners Court is required as a consent agenda item.

The properties attached to this listing were previously recommended for acceptance, however, there were obstacles that could not be overcome which have prevented the County from successfully accepting the donations. As such, this agenda item is requesting the rescinding of the acceptance of the properties attached on the item's backup.

January 27, 2020 (Item #4-Y) Approve and authorize the recommendation of the Executive Director of Public Works to accept donations of real property pursuant to the County Real Property Donation Policy, as provided on the attached listing.
