Background: | Assisted outpatient treatment (AOT) is the practice of delivering outpatient treatment under court order to adults with severe mental illness who meet specific criteria, such as prior history of repeated hospitalizations or arrest. It is a tool for assisting those individuals most at risk for the negative consequences of not receiving treatment.
Under the terms on the Interlocal, the County Attorney’s office would present requests for assisted outpatient treatment to court and Emergence Health Network (EHN) would provide for treatment. This program expands the treatment options for patients receiving court ordered services. |
Fiscal Impact: | Emergence Health Network (EHN) shall provide funds in the amount of $55,000 per year for two years to offset costs incurred by the County. |
