The El Paso Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is developing a new set of transportation planning documents which will cover transportation investments up to the year 2050. The 2050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) will encompass multimodal, regionally significant projects that demonstrate the ability to meet prescribed federal, state, and MPO requirements. Along with the 2050 MTP, a new Transportation Improvement Program and Transportation Conformity Report will be developed. The new planning documents will reflect investments from performance-based valuations. The El Paso MPO is accepting Project Request Forms for the call for projects that will close on June 22, 2020.

Staff has taken the results of the recently presented County Master Thoroughfare Plan to identify which priorities should be submitted to the MPO for funding in the development of the next long-range plan. The plan’s development ensures that the decisions for the County and MPO’s investments are supported by technical data and recommendations from a long-range planning document.
