On March 13, 2020, the Governor of Texas declared a disaster and the President of the United States invoked the Stafford Act in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic allowing political subdivisions to request that the Governor extend statutory deadlines via Texas Government Code 418.016(e) in relation to this emergency.
Senate Bill 604 of the 86th Legislative Session requires all full service deputy contracts for Texas Tax Assessor Collectors to be procured in accordance with State contracting regulations by March 31, 2020. Because of COVID-19, the tax assessor collector will not meet the deadline and is seeking an extension. |
