| Background: | The Sheriff's Office and the U.S. Marshal Service have had an ongoing Intergovernmental Agreement to House Federal Inmates. This modification is to incorporate the use of court guard services to monitor Federal Prisoners on a case-by-case basis during court hearings conducted via Video Teleconferencing (VTC) when the Federal Judiciary has restricted in-person presentation of a prisoner before the court. These services will remain as services encompassed in the per diem rate. The modification may allow for additional funding to be obtained for the reimbursement of costs related or incurred to the (VTC) court hearings during the COVID-19 pandemic. |
