| Background: | The County of El Paso requires the services of a non-profit organization to provide infrastructure for the distribution of emergency financial assistance to eligible residents for emergency procurement services. This contracted service will be part of the distribution of County CARES General Assistance Funds; $500,000 to El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank.
This financial support is necessary to keep up with the enormous demand of county-wide mass distribution of food staples as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. While federal government relief has been provided to the food bank, additional local government support is necessary to maintain services and keep up with the demand to serve the community at large while many are still sheltering in place and food scarcity is rampant in the community. |
