This agreement has been reviewed and approved as to legal form by the County Attorney’s Office (Contract No. 2019-0678). | | Background: | The 65th Judicial District Court, the Designated Juvenile Court of El Paso County, El Paso County Juvenile Probation Department and the El Paso Independent School District (EPISD), in order to carry out the legislative intent of Section 37.014 of the Texas Education Code (Court-Related Children-Liaison Officers), as well as the joint convenience of information sharing between the Juvenile Probation Department and EPISD pursuant to Texas Family Code §58.0051 and Texas Education Code §37.084, respectively, to facilitate liaison functions between the two entities.
