| Background: | The Information Technology Department (ITD) administers the software infrastructure that provides County employees with access to the majority of technology based solutions. Currently the Information Technology Department is licensed to utilize three software programs from Northwind Ventures. The Active Directory (AD) Manager Plus and Active Directory (AD) Audit software provides auditing, monitoring, and reporting information such as users, groups, computers and configurations for the County Infrastructure Catalogue. In addition, these tools aid the Help Desk and the System Administrators with their day-to-day activities within the County’s Microsoft Active Directory. All County employees utilize the Active Directory (AD) Self Service software as a secure method to reset their password or unlock their account.
The Information Technology Department (ITD) seeks to renew the maintenance and support agreement from the reseller of this software (Northwind Ventures). This agreement allows for the continued maintenance and update of the software, which is utilized by the County of El Paso. |
