Background:

The Borderplex is offering a table for the Commissioners Court at its Nov. 7, 2019 U.S.-Mexico Summit.

The U.S.-Mexico Border Summit is an annual gathering of academic, business, civic, and government leaders that examines the critical role border communities play in reinforcing a strong U.S.-Mexico relationship. The goal of the summit is to influence political, social, and economic dialogues between the United States and Mexico. Convened annually in the heart of the U.S.-Mexico border (El Paso and Cd. Juárez), the summit provides a platform to engage in timely and candid conversations about the challenges and opportunities that exist along our shared 2,000 mile border. No topic is left untouched. Internationally renowned panelists talk about everything from trade and border security to energy reform and emerging economies to the social and cultural aspects of border life. Panelists have included U.S. Ambassador to Mexico Roberta Jacobson; former Mexican Ambassador to the U.S. Carlos Sada; Governor of Chihuahua, MX Javier Corral Jurado; San Diego Padres CEO Mike Dee; U.S. Representatives Beto O’Rourke and Will Hurd; former U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker, and many more.
