The TAC will also be responsible for notifying each licensed authorized organization of the continued imposition of the fee. | | Background: | Pursuant to House Bill (HB) 914, enacted by the 86th Texas Legislature, in order to continue to receive a share of bingo prize fees after January 1, 2020, county commissioners must affirmatively vote to continue receiving their share of the prize fee or the bingo organizations will keep that share for themselves to fund their charitable purposes. Prior to FY18 funds were received quarterly, that changed to annually in FY18. Currently the State is collecting 5% of the fee on prizes awarded, then the County receives a pro rata share of the funds.
