(NPI). The AEP Award is earned by public and non-profit organizations that obtain a high application score based on standardized criteria and annually awarded to recognize excellence in the following areas of procurement best practices: Innovation, Professionalism, E-Procurement, Productivity, Leadership. The award is sponsored by all major procurement organizations in the United States and Canada.
Not only the County’s first time earning the AEP award--- but the very first time the County has been in a position to submit procurement processes for review. The AEP is not easy to obtain and represents many, many hours of work since January 2017 on the part of the Purchasing Department and all County of El Paso staff. It should also be noted that the NPI evaluation process is very detailed and not every submittal earns the award.
