(Contract No. 2019-0340) | | Background: | In 2013 the County entered into an Interlocal Agreement for Enhanced Public Safety Radio Interconnectivity Agreement with the City of El Paso which governs the use and maintenance of the P25 radio system. Under this amendment the city agrees to accept $300,000 from the County as full and complete payment for all maintenance costs due and equipment for the period beginning September 1, 2015 through August 31, 2018. Also, per this amendment the County will pay to the City 18 percent of the costs paid by the City for the ongoing maintenance, repair and upgrade, for a total amount of $181,399 for the period from September 1, 2019 to August 31, 2019. This amount is based on the number of radios each entity currently has in the system.
This amendment also requires the City and the County to renegotiate this contract for the next three years starting on September 1, 2019. The new rates will be based on actual radio counts for the County. | | Fiscal Impact: | $481,399 available in
