(Contract No. 2019-0592) | Background: | The Public Defender's Office, in coordination with County Administration, has sought leadership training tailored to the unique challenges of law office environments. During the search, and subsequent discussions, LawyerBrain, L.L.C. has been identified as being extremely well qualified to provide this training.
LawyerBrain's trainer, Dr. Larry Richard is both a lawyer and a psychologist, having practiced law as a litigator for ten years, before earning his PhD in psychology. The training program will include on-site training, a webinar session, detailed leadership skill assessments, and individual sessions for the Leadership Team. | Fiscal Impact: | Total costs $45,000 - $20,000 (which will be off set) = approximate anticipated costs of $25,000
Approximately $20,000.00 offset will be as follows:
1) Transfer of approximately $13,500 in travel expenses for the Public Defender's Office to the Public Defender Mental Health Unit's grant funding from the Texas Indigent Defense Commission.
2) An additional $6,500.00 will be offset through a refund for a canceled training reservation.
