| Background: | The Information Technology Department (ITD) administers the software infrastructure that provides County Employees with security awareness based training. This software is “Mission Critical” to providing a proactive platform for the instruction of our employees in preventing phishing attempts from being successful, not becoming a victim of ransomeware, recognizing CEO Fraud, and to demonstrate regulatory compliance.
ITD is seeking approval to renew the County’s KnowBe4 Subscription agreement with SHI Government Solutions. SHI Government Solutions is the State of Texas Department of Information (DIR) authorized provider for IT Security Software under DIR Contract No. DIR-TSO-4291 through February 19, 2020. This agreement is for a one year term beginning on August 29, 2019 to August 30, 2020 and it allows for the continued usage, maintenance, and future updates of the KnowBe4 software which it used by the County of El Paso for security awareness based training of all County employees.
Requisition 11910156 has been vetted and approved by the County’s Purchasing Department, and upon Commissioners Court approval it will be converted to a purchase order.
Legal review was required and has been completed by County Attorney’s Office on August 22, 2019.
