| Background: | The existing Variable Air Volume system (VAV) is in need of upgrade and repair due to age of the components and normal wear and tear. Control and Equipment Company is the only authorized seller and systems integrator in the El Paso area and the only vendor in this area authorized to install, repair, and upgrade these components without voiding any maintenance and warranty agreements.
Pursuant to Texas Local Government Code Section 262.024 (c), as a single source item, it is exempt from the provisions of the County Purchasing Act. Single Source will be re-evaluated yearly to ensure compliance with statute. |
