| | Background: | The County of El Paso and the City of El Paso through Destination El Paso entered into an interlocal agreement February 11, 2019, to develop a booth and presentation for the South by Southwest Trade Show for the purpose of promoting regional business climate and economic development.
The SXSW trade show highlighted the region’s geographic location, maximized networking efforts for local businesses, and brought together various resources to market the community as a whole and achieve multiple economic development objectives including:

Improvement of the community’s image locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally.

Attraction, retention, and expansion of businesses

Attraction and retention of residents and tourists

Promotion of incentives and programs
