| Item Title: | Economic Development - Receive a presentation from Dover, Kohl, and Partners on the Mission Trail Comprehensive Masterplan. | | Submitted By: | Sam Trujillo, Interim Director, Economic Development Department (915) 546-2177 | | Subject: | Receive a presentation from Dover, Kohl, and Partners on the Mission Trail Comprehensive Masterplan. | | Background: | On August 20, 2018, the Commissioners Court approved a Professional Services Agreement with Dover, Kohl, and Partners to complete a Comprehensive Masterplan for the Mission Trail communities of Ysleta, Socorro, and San Elizario. The Masterplan addresses a broad range of topics affecting resident quality of life and heritage tourism. These topics include initiatives and strategies for both short and long term economic development, public amenities, infrastructure and mobility, housing and urban development, as well as design guidelines, land use, and cohesive, multijurisdictional planning. Staff and community members were given the opportunity to provide feedback, as reflected in the revised draft currently under Commissioners Court review. Representatives from the DK&P team will provide a presentation to the Commissioners Court outlining the content and recommendations indicated in the Comprehensive Masterplan Draft. The presentation will conclude with a Question-Answer and Discussion session. Once the draft has been updated to reflect Commissioners Court feedback, Economic Development staff will place the Mission Trail Comprehensive Masterplan on the agenda to be approved and adopted.
