Subject:Receive presentation and provide direction on the County’s  Economic Development Comprehensive Incentives Policy.
Background:

The Economic Development Department will provide the Commissioners Court an overview of the existing Economic Development Comprehensive Incentive policy and dissect the different categories and their effect to investment over the past two years.. The Economic Development Department is seeking direction on potential updates to the policy  including the following areas:

  • Category I – Quality Jobs

  • Category II – Business Type

  • Category III – Capital Intensive

  • Category IV – Local Home Grown Businesses

  • Investment Zones

    • Downtown

    • County Airport

    • Marcelino Serna Port of Entry

    • Northwest

    • Northgate Transit Oriented Development

    • Alameda Corridor

    • Horizon City Investment Corridors

Recommendation:Receive presentation and provide direction on the County’s  Economic Development Comprehensive Incentives Policy.
Prior Action:July 24, 2017 Agenda Item #14 Commissioners Court adopted the Economic Development Comprehensive Incentive Policy.
