On August 9, 2018 during a budget hearing session, Commissioners Court discussed the Cross Border Survey item and approved funding in the amount of $40,000.00. As per discussion, the Border Survey would include interviewing Juarez residents that shop in El Paso for potentially deriving the following data:
*What are Mexican Nationals buying?
*What are the spending patterns?
*Gauge how Mexican Nationals consume media.
Survey results are to be used for attraction of big box and retailers in general.
Economic Development Department has developed RFP specifications for the Cross Border Survey but does not believe enough funding is available to provide the contracted services.
Economic Development Department will be providing the Commissioners Court with some options on the Cross Border Survey and will be requesting direction on how best to proceed.
