One (1) Supply Service Specialist GS13 (Step 2) salary is funded out of 6048 RECMGMT fund. This position used to be classified as an Office Specialist, Senior position and was previously assigned to the District Clerk’s Archives and Records Management. In early 2018, the District Clerk determined that there is a need in the Accounting Division as the amount of duties within the Accounting Division have increased; therefore, the position was transferred to Accounting. This position is no longer performing records management functions; therefore, salary should not be allocated to 6048 RECMGMT. It needs to be funded out of General Fund.
This position is tasked with the procurement of supplies and equipment for the District Clerk’s Office. Thus, this position performs accounting functions. The staff member assigned to this position has accounting experience; therefore, the District Clerk deemed that the position would be better suited in Accounting.
The District Clerk would like to swap another position to minimize the impact to the General Fund by having the salary of one (1) Records Distribution Specialist GS10 (Step 3) funded out of records management 6048 and removed from General Fund. The Records Distribution Specialist position is currently performing records management functions. The position of Records Distribution Specialist is more appropriate to fund out of Fund 6048 RECMGMT.
This request was submitted to the County’s Human Resource Department for review on July 19, 2018. The District Clerk was instructed that only Commissioners Court has the authority to change funding source of positions and approval of change in duties.
