Approve and authorize the El Paso County Sheriff's Office - Victim Services Unit to apply for a Direct Services grant from the Office of the Governor - Criminal Justice Division. This two-year grant request is in the amount of $330,694 with a 20 percent cash match of $82,896 for a total project cost of $413,590 from October 1, 2019 through September 30, 2021.  Further, authorize the County Judge to sign the accompanying Resolution.

The grant is needed to provide services and assistance directly to victims of crime to speed their recovery and aid them through the criminal justice process.  Services may include the following:1) responding to the emotional and physical needs of crime victims; 2) assisting victims in stabilizing their lives after a victimization; 3) assisting victims to understand and participate in the criminal justice system; and 4) providing victims with safety and security.

An account will be set-up at the time the grant is awarded and approved by Commissioner's Court.
