| Subject: | Approve and authorize the rescinding of the Employee Retirement System and Group Insurance Policy. |
| Background: | The County’s current policy on Employee Retirement System and Group Insurance was approved by the Court in 1996. Since then, a Health and Dental Summary Plan Description (SPD) has been created and adopted by the Commissioners Court which serves as the policy for the County’s medical and dental insurance. The Employee Retirement System and Group Insurance Policy is no longer applicable since the creation of the Summary Plan Description.
On February 5, 2019, the Civil Service Commission recommended to approve rescinding of this policy. As a result, this item is being brought to the Commissioners Court for approval to rescind the policy.
