(Contract No. 2018-0879) | | Background: | The County Human Resources and the Sheriff’s Office sought a qualified vendor to provide comprehensive promotional testing services for various ranks within the County of El Paso Sheriff’s Office.
Currently, the Human Resources Department creates and administers the exams, as well as administers the protest and assessment centers, which include grading and announcing the promotional list according to exam grades, assessment and seniority points. It has been a goal of HR and Sheriff Wiles to have an external vendor create the exams and assessment centers in order to maximize the validity of this process. While there has not been tangible liability thus far, outsourcing this task will only protect the County via our proactive approach. By allowing the vendor to take on this task of expertise, HR will continue to concentrate on administering exams, coordinating protest sessions, and at times handle assessment centers depending on budget restraints. HR will also be able to focus on the reports being provided by the vendor that will help us analyze and concentrate on candidate career development, as well as improving the operations of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.
This current Agreement will be effective January 1, 2019 - December 1, 2021, and may subsequently be renewed for no more than two one year terms.
