(Contract Numbers 2019-0064, 2019-0063, 2019-0062 and 2019-0061) | | Background: | Funding for eligible local and regional municipal solid waste management projects in support of the goals and objectives of the adopted Regional Solid Waste Management Plan (RSWMP) for the Rio Grande County of Governments (RGCOG) region. The projects provide a direct measureable effect on reducing the amount of waste going into Texas landfills, by either diverting various materials from the municipal solid waste stream for beneficial use or by reducing waste generation at the source. Funding for this program is provided through an award from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), under the authority of §361.014, Texas Health and Safety Code. This project will do solid waste clean-ups in the areas of the Upper Valley, Gallegos Park, East Montana, and Fabens. | | Fiscal Impact: | An account will be set-up at the time the grant is awarded and approved by Commissioners Court.
