(Contract No. 2018-0444) | | Background: | In accordance with policy and certification requirements, the Sheriff’s Office is required to conduct both pre-employment tests as well as fit-for duty examinations for the agency. Under this contract, UMC will perform these examinations in compliance with state, federal and agency requirements as specified using certified and/or licensed testing methods recognized and endorsed by the profession.
In August 22, 2016, Commissioners Court approved an interlocal agreement with University Medical Center for medical screenings provided for pre-employment and fit-for-duty related purposes of the Human Resources Department (Sheriff’s Division) effective August 01, 2016 through July 31, 2018, with two one year options to renew. (2016-0525)
After discussion with University Medical Center, El Paso County agreed that this contract (2016-0525), which was fully executed on January 27, 2017, would be terminated and instead replaced with the current contract being presented today. This current agreement supersedes and controls the provisions of the pre-employment and employment medical examinations provided by UMC to the County as of August 1, 2018, regardless of the execution date of the Agreement. This current Agreement will be effective August 01, 2018 through July 31, 2019, and may subsequently be renewed for no more than two 1-year terms.
