Item Title:HR - Career Progression Plan - Deputy Constable correction

Subject:Approve the revision to the Career Progression Plan for Deputy Constables within the County. There are no fiscal impacts this year as a result of this revision.
Background:

On December 10, 2018 Commissioner Court approved and authorized the Career Progression Plan for Deputy Constables within the County.                  

 

At this time, HR is seeking approval of the revision to the Career Progression Plan (attached redlined and corrected policy).                        

 

The Plan was designed to mimic some of the incentives given to law enforcement, more specifically the County of El Paso’s Sheriff’s Office. Upon the approval HR realized there was an error in the educational portion of the plan. The amount listed on the approved plan was $69.23 bi-weekly, when in fact it should be $60 bi-weekly. At this time there are no Deputy Constables with a Masters Degree. Therefore, there will not be an impact to personnel nor the budget. HR has communicated this revision to the Constables.

Fiscal Impact:At this time there are no additional fiscal impacts.  There is only the original fiscal impact of $50,634, which was approved on December 10, 2018. 
Recommendation:Approve the revision to the Career Progression Plan for Deputy Constables within the County. There are no additional fiscal impacts to this revision.
