Item Title:Budget and Fiscal Policy - BA No. 09

Subject:Approve amendment No. 09 to the County of El Paso’s 2018-2019 operating budget.  This budgetary amendment will Increase Grants by $624,540, thus increasing the overall budget of $433,536,033.39 to $434,160,573.39.  
Background:

To include statutory requirement, operational impact, or performance goal.

The County budget is being amended in accordance with Texas Local Government Code §111.0415.

 

Budget amendment is necessary:

  • To transfer appropriations within the 2007 Capital Projects to re-allocate funding as approved by Commissioners Court on 9/18/18 item# 29 and 10/1/18 item# 19.

  • To transfer appropriations from the General and Administrative Maintenance and Operation contingency account to the Justice of the Peace 2 department to cover the cost of the public official bond.

  • To transfer appropriations from the Justice of the Peace Precinct 6 into the General and Administrative account to cover the cost for salary and fringe expenses for the staffing changes approved during Commissioners Court on October 29, 2018 item #16.

  • To transfer appropriations from the Sheriff's Patrol Division to the Animal Control Division to cover the costs for the hiring of six temporary animal control officers as approved by Commissioners Court on November 26, 2018; item #12.

  • To transfer appropriations within the Juvenile Probation Department Challenge account to cover the cost to construct a 400 sq. ft. concrete slab and metal canopy for the purpose of implementing the Challenge Academy welding program.

  • To set up the budget for the Leonidas Grant as awarded by the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force.

  • To set up the budget for the100 Washingtons Grant as awarded by the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force.

  • To set up the budget for the No Hitter Grant as awarded by the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force.

  • To set up the budget for the Walk Ins Welcome Grant as awarded by the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force.

  • To increase the budget for the O. T. Smith Share Path Grant as awarded and approved by the granting agency to El Paso County.

  • To set up the budget for the Gramp19 Grant as awarded and approved by the granting agency to County of El Paso.

Fiscal Impact:This budgetary amendment will Increase Grants by $624,540.00, thus increasing the overall budget of $433,536,033.39 to $434,160,573.39.
