(Contract No. 2018-0745) | | Background: | The Information Technology Department (ITD) administers the hardware and software infrastructure that provides County employees (and the Public) with access to the majority of our technology-based solutions. These functions include data file storage, internet access, and enterprise level applications (Odyssey, Munis, Email, etc.). The underlying software that provides these functions requires modernization. This upgraded foundation will provide an improved and more secure platform for information processing to County of El Paso employees, partner agencies, and residents of El Paso County. This modernization will include the environments of the County of El Paso comprising the primary and secondary datacenters and integrating with the recent acquisition of core equipment.
To support the finalization of this modernization project, ITD is requesting the assistance of a professional organization to assist with this highly specialized and technical project. Sequel Data Systems, Inc. has been identified as an experienced and qualified vendor to assist the County of El Paso Information Technology Department in providing migration services to a new Infrastructure Enhanced System and to a new Forest environment. This upgraded foundation will provide for continued software support, increased functionality, and improved security. Under this agreement, Sequel Data Systems, Inc., will assess the current infrastructure, design, plan, implement, and test the new foundation following the assessment and scope of work guidelines using industry best practices.
Legal review was required and has been completed by the County Attorney’s Office on November 26, 2018.

(Contract No. 2018-0745) | | Prior Action: | On the May 8, 2017 Commissioners Court meeting the Court approved and authorized the purchasing agent to reject all responses received for RFP17-001, Infrastructure Enhanced System and Forest Migration for the County of El Paso. In further discussion with the Purchasing Agent it was determined to pursue the State Contract – DIR for the services.
On the November 5, 2018, Commissioners Court meeting the Court approved and authorized the purchase of a County Active Directory Migration for the Information Technology Department (ITD) using the Department of Information Resources (DIR) Contract # DIR-TSO4160 awarded to Sequel Data Systems, Inc. of Austin, Texas in the amount of $754,712. Purchasing approved on 10/24/2018.
