| Subject: | Approve and authorize the County Judge to allow the Public Works Department to submit an application for a potential grant with the Texas Department of Public Safety - Emergency Management, as part of the Pre-Disaster Mitigation (PDM) Grant Program, and further authorize the new proposed priority list. There is a 25 percent County match in the amount of $2,400,000 if selected. |
| Background: | As part of the ongoing efforts to improve drainage issues/concerns within the County regions, the Public Works Department has been working with the Council of Governments to try to fund some of the prioritize project lists. The COG has advised us of the potential for a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for the FY2018 Pre-disaster Mitigation. There is an availability of funding for the NOFO of $235,200,000 for agencies. A possible obligation of County funding in the amount of $2,400,000 (25% match) will be required if selected. |
