| Background: | For several years a subscriber agreement has existed between the District Attorney’s Office and West—A Thomson Reuters Business, for the provision of access to computerized legal research tools to assistant district attorneys known as Westlaw. Access to computerized legal research by assistant district attorney and paralegals is necessary for the attorneys and paralegals to quickly and accurately perform legal research. This addendum allowing for 10 more seats allows additional employees who need access to the research software to have access to the research software. |

The addendum increases the monthly subscriber fee by $524.51 per month for FY2019. The annual increase for FY2019 will be $7,320.84. If approved, $7,321 will be transferred from GF-DA-OFFICE EXPENSE (COGF-1000-0000000-431-20-21002-0001-00000-600200-) to GF-DA-BOOKS&SUBSCRIPT (COGF-1000-0000000-431-20-21002-0001-00000-600206). Funding is available in GF-DA-BOOKS&SUBSCRIPT (COGF-1000-0000000-431-20-21002-0001-00000-600206) in the amount of $7,321.00 for FY2019. For the remaining years on the master contract through August 2021 the subscriber fee will increase by 2% per year.
