Item Title:Public Works - Facilities-8th Court of Appeals Renovation

Subject:Approve and authorize the conversion of a 19’x15’ space on the 12th Floor of the County Courthouse, currently being used as a library, into two offices for the 8th Court of Appeals.
Background:

Due to additional legal staff the Justices of this Court have requested that current office space be modified to accommodate two offices.  According to the Space Allocation and Building Standards Policy any renovation, modification, and alteration to existing space over $500 requires Commissioners Court approval regardless of funding source.


Fiscal Impact:No fiscal impact to the County.  The 8th Court of Appeals will fund the project 100% with the use of State allocated funds at an estimated cost of $14,659.76.
Recommendation:Approve and authorize the conversion of a 19’x15’ space on the 12th Floor of the County Courthouse, currently being used as a library, into two offices for the 8th Court of Appeals.
