| Background: | The purpose of the grant is to provide capital equipment that will provide continued commuter bus service for Rural El Paso County, including the towns of Anthony and Clint, the Village of Vinton, the cities of Socorro and Horizon and the unincorporated areas of Westway, Canutillo, Montana Vista, Square Dance, Agua Dulce, Sparks, Fabens and Tornillo to the City of El Paso.
This grant makes federal resources available to states and direct recipients for capital projects to replace, rehabilitate and purchase buses, vans and related equipment and to construct bus-related facilities, including technological changes or innovations to modify low or no emission vehicles or facilities.
