The Information Technology Department (ITD) manages and maintains all data communication used to connect devices located within the County of El Paso. This communication provide the secure connectivity that allows employees to utilize the information resources resident on the County of El Paso’s network. These resources include; email, shared files storage, and enterprise applications (Odyssey, Munis, etc.). ITD has standardized the security, speeds and the bandwidth required for optimized user productivity for these services.
ITD has been requested to modernize the wireless infrastructure (Wi-Fi) at the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Academy Facility located at 12501 Montana Ave. This project will enhance the security, performance and reliably of devices utilizing Wi-Fi. Performing a comprehensive wireless survey of the building is a foundational step that will identify the optimal locations and strength of signal for our needs. This survey will assist in the planning and designing of a wireless network, and provide a wireless solution that will deliver the required wireless coverage, data rates, network capacity to effectively meet the needs of the County.
ITD is requesting approval of an agreement with Sigma Solutions to conduct a comprehensive site survey of the location and provide standardized results & recommendations. This agreement provides is for a total cost of $12,730. The agreement will become effective upon execution and will be completed within two weeks.
Purchasing has reviewed and approved the procurement of these services by releasing Purchase Order 21810970 on August 6, 2018.
County Attorney's Office approved contract #2018-0515 for Commissioners Court on August 20, 2018. No 1295 Form needed for this agreement.
